After starting Body For Life and dropping off it on two different occasions, here I am about to try and start it again once again. I plan to start doing the exercises this week to get myself back in the cycle of doing the exercise practices properly, and get into the habit of the diet. I made my run to the Whole Foods Market to get turkey breast for the George Forman and ground buffalo meat to work into a couple hamburgers. I realize that those aren't the most creative meals, but sadly I'm a gourmond, not a cook.

So far, today I've been kind of good, but I need to get myself into the habit of eatting out properly when I do it. However, I think I'm slowly teaching myself better portion control. The essential for that is making sure I actually eat a breakfast. Instead of my usual get-up-at-a-stupid-late-hour and just eat lunch, I need to make sure I eat some form of breakfast so that I can get a basic regulatory pattern started from an early point.

Fortunately, I love making egg-white omelettes in the morning, so it's all gravy. 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg, with a little bit of sea salt, and a lot of Sriracha hot sauce all in the mixture, make it as an omelette and serve it with 2 slices of whole wheat toast and some delicious raspberry salsa. Good enough for me!

Now why 200 for a goal weight? Well, it's my weight rounded down to the closest hundred's place. Duh.

No, but really, the last time I was anywhere near 200 was when I first moved off to college, when I weighed 195. It's a good starting point for me to reach for, and if I can reach 200 for once, then it proves I have the dedication and it means I should just keep going.

I also intend to monitor my body fat percentage as I go. That why I have an idea if there's any weight gain, whether it is solely do me eatting badly or not exercising enough, or instead the possibly of me gaining any muscle mass.

Here goes nothing. Again. If my friends can do this, so can I.

Oh, and one more thing. If you guys notice me falling off the horse, try and get me back on. As dorky as it sounds, I'm going to need the cheer squad in the back urging me on.

I need to lose about 13 pounds to make my pre-college weight. Not too horrible. I'm just not motivated enough to add in a diet/exercise routine on top of everything ELSE I have to do. =(

I think January would be the best time for me to start--then I don't have to worry about sticking to a diet through the holidays.

Good luck!

See, the reason why I have decided to not start in January is because it would feel too much like a "new year's resolution", and by doing that, I'd be more inclined to not follow through. We all know how bad we all are with those. ;)

Awesome, good luck. ^^

I keep meaning to reduce myself from a huge sweaty mound of blubber myself, but I have no willpower and an affinity for delicious snacks. x.X It's my new year's resolution tho, starting in january...

Good luck, you, though

See, I thought you looked fine, but if you need the resolution, if you need any help/suggestions/advice, I can try and pass them your way.

best of luck with that...you know what I hear burns a lot of calories...sex.

I need to get back into the habbit of exersize again, I've been not doing it so much. I keep telling myself that I'll find a gym when I get my own place because if I find a gym now I'll be spending money for the 4-6 months that I'm still where I am now, and then I'd have to find another one...and yadda yadda. That was fine when I was running 3 times a week, but I haven't done that in a few weeks....

Best of luck to you and your goal, Have you tried counting calories I have friends who have had excellent success with that.

The problem I have with calorie counting is I'm absent minded, so I'm going to be bad about actually counting them. Not to mention when I eat out, its hard to get those numbers exactly accurate because you don't know what's in the sauces/creams/etc. that get marinated into stuff you have and so on.

It doesn't entail anything. It's just a group of furs who have an LJ community that post about themselves losing weight (or at least their striving to do so) and supporting each other in the process.

I just thought it would be appropriate for me to join because ...well... 1. lulz furry 2. lulz fatty

Dude- that pic is hot. Definitely a keeper.

I'll go to the gym with you if you want. I was really good at running every day for a few months there, but I've been a slacker lately.

lol ddr lol

the holidays are a hard place to start... but you can make it. like, put pieces of lean turkey on salad for thanksgiving, etc.

it's really a lifestyle change if you want to make those kind of marks, but i have faith in you. abolish soda (or at least switch to diet, liquid calories is stupid), completely toss starch munchies out the window and switch to fruits and salad.

also i am not getting near any horses.

You'd be surprised. I actually have barely been drinking soda in the last year or so anyways. I knew just how much calories those tend to supply. The problem for me is dealing with food cravings. I like quality foods a lot, and usually those involve being slathered in butter in the preperation. Or ice cream from Jeni's and/or Denise's. Those are part of my downfall.

If you have a Palm, the USDA has a "pocket nutrition database" that you can install on it that's essentially their entire nutrition guidebook ... very handy for guesstimating calories while you're not at home surrounded by nutrition labels. :)
