Well, this first week worked out to an extent. I started off at the top of last week doing fairly well on the diet plan and the exercise plan aside from forgetting to do my cardio exercises. However, further on into the week, I found myself coming down with a cold. With my immune system fighting off the cold I came down with, combined with my first times back at the gym in a long time, it look me a while for my shoulders, triceps, and hamstrings to truly recover. Towards the end of the week, I skimped on the diet, even though Sunday was still my free day (that I did my best to try and still be somewhat observant of the eatting habits of the diet). Still, some how I pulled off 1.4 lb, so that's a start I would say. This next week and the following are going to be difficult weeks. This week due to Midwest FurFest and the following week thanks to Thanksgiving.
Now what do I plan to do during MFF to try and ameliorate the damages that I will cause? (Did you notice that GRE word useage? Damn right, I went there.) First, I'm going to try and make it into the gym at the convention hotel at least twice in the 4-5 days that I'm at the hotel. Nothing too intensive is required, just 20-30 minutes of cardio to at least get my metabolism going. I'll also probably buy some healthy snacks to keep my metabolism going throughout the con. When the consuite only has snack foods to offer (no offense to
carol_kitty and
sabot_lours), the alternative of grapes, apples, and so forth are a welcome option.
Thanksgiving? Well, that's going to have to be an issue of self-control. Can I eat the food and not overeat? Can I eat only one piece of cake? Or can I at least work out afterwards or the following days to keep myself active. I may have to ask my aunt or my uncle to let me sneak into the Cleveland JCC on their memberships, or just make sure to go with my dad's side of the family for their annual Thanksgiving hike. It's been far too long since I've joined them for that.
